Is Gluten Linked to Dental Decay?

Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye and barley products. Gluten sensitivity can be a signal of celiac disease, a condition that affects the immune system and causes many long-term disorders.
Without invasive surgery, tests for the disease are often misdiagnosed. Now experts suggest that discolored, or damaged, tooth enamel is a visible sign of possible celiac disease. They want dentists to use this test in every dental examination, especially for young children.
